Adventure Cove at Lake Shawnee opens after early-season shutdown
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Adventure Cove at Lake Shawnee is set to reopen after being closed all season.
A part of Lake Shawnee will finally open up, after being closed to unsafe water. According to the Shawnee County Parks and Recreation Facebook page, the Adventure Cove swim beach, as well as the inflatables, will open Saturday, July 6.
This comes after the blue-green algae advisory at Lake Shawnee was lifted earlier this week. Adventure Cove will be open during regular operating hours, according to the social media post. The Cove will be open from 11:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
