RELENTLESS VOYAGER (3.15 Haydock, nap)

He was caught out by a muddling pace in a small field at York last time and this big field will be much more to his liking. He won a 14-runner contest at Epsom under Oisin Murphy the time before and the triple champion jockey gets back on board today. He goes on any ground which is a plus with rain forecast.

POINT LYNAS (2.25 Sandown, nb)

He is likely to get things his own way in front and Ed Bethell’s pace-pusher will take plenty of passing. He blasted off in front at York on his last handicap run and fought off 16 rivals over this trip. He then more than held his own in the Group 3 John Of Gaunt Stakes at Haydock. The yard continues in excellent form and can go close.

TIFFANY (2.40 Haydock, treble)

She couldn’t have been more impressive when hitting the target in the Group 3 Hoppings Stakes at Newcastle last Friday. She powered through the line over the 1m2f trip so should have no issue staying and there’s more to come from Sir Mark Prescott’s filly.

HAYDOCK

2.05

DRAMATIC STAR caught the eye when getting off the mark at Hamilton last time.

He improved for every yard of the 1m3f trip and this son of Sea The Stars should relish this stiffer test on his handicap debut.

Trainer William Haggas has won three of the past four runnings of this race.

Wild Waves looks the main danger after a good win over this trip at Doncaster. He wasn’t stopping at the line and the booking of Oisin Murphy is a plus.

Fouroneohfever was a good fourth in a Royal Ascot handicap last time and shapes like a stayer. A 2lb rise looks more than fair.

My Noble Lord is in flying form with three wins from four handicap runs. This is tougher but he has an each-way shout.

Too Bossy For Us looked all about stamina when third at Thirsk last time.

TIFFANY couldn’t have been more impressive when hitting the target in the Group 3 Hoppings Stakes at Newcastle last Friday.

She powered through the line over the 1m2f trip so should have no issue staying and there’s more to come from Sir Mark Prescott’s filly.

John Gosden has a superb record in this and he can go close again with Queen Of The Pride.

This Roaring Lion filly battled to the line for a short-head success in the Pinnacle Stakes over course and distance last time.

That was just her fourth run so there should be more to come.

Lady Boba pushed her all the way in that race. That was her first run of the season so Ralph Beckett’s filly should come on for it.

Sea Theme was fourth in the same contest on comeback and is another with more to offer.

Forest Fairy was seventh in the Oaks after winning at Chester and this galloping track should be more to her liking while Sweet Memories was promising last season.

3.15

RELENTLESS VOYAGER was caught out by a muddling pace in a small field at York last time and this big field will be much more to his liking.

He earlier won a 14-runner contest at Epsom under Oisin Murphy and the triple champion jockey gets back on board today. He goes on any ground which is a plus with rain forecast.

Epic Poet has improved since joining David O’Meara and was a good second in a hot handicap at Royal Ascot last time. A 3lb rise looks fair and he is at home over this distance.

La Yakel is back from a break but William Haggas will have him ready and this step up in distance could bring improvement on his close second at York in October.

Chillingham is consistent without winning and ran well again on the Knavesmire latest.

SANDOWN

1.50

LIVE IN THE DREAM is nearing the last-chance saloon but anything like his true form would be good enough to win this.

He almost tripped coming out of the stalls at Haydock last time so we’ll forgive that and his comeback in the Group 2 Temple Stakes was pretty solid. He has run well here before and handles any ground.
Twilight Calls drops down from Group 1 level after a fair effort in the King Charles III at Royal Ascot.

It’s more than two years since his last win but this looks a decent chance in first-time cheekpieces.

Desperate Hero is in the form of his life and destroyed some useful handicappers at Hamilton last time.

He’s won on fast and soft so won’t be far away, while Apollo One was second last season and has been consistent since.

2.25

POINT LYNAS is likely to get things his own way in front and Ed Bethell’s pace-pusher will take plenty of passing.

He blasted off in front at York on his last handicap run and fought off 16 rivals over this trip.

He then more than held his own in the Group 3 John Of Gaunt Stakes at Haydock. The yard continues in excellent form and can go close.

Perotto was beaten less than a length in the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot and the handicapper has been lenient with a 1lb rise. The ground will be slower today but he can figure under Ryan Moore.

Two Tempting held on well to win over course and distance last time. He is best with some cut in the ground so should get conditions to suit here.

Holloway Boy was more than a little unlucky to finish fifth in the Hunt Cup and goes on any turf ground. He has solid place claims.

3.00

SOPRANO was impressive in winning the Sandringham at Royal Ascot and can follow up. Moving up to this trip unlocked improvement and there should be more to come.

Indelible ‘won’ on the wrong side in the Sandringham and should get closer to the tip today. It’s early days for Ralph Beckett’s filly who should step up again.

Clove Hitch looked useful when breaking her maiden at Newbury last time by eight lengths. This is clearly tougher but the booking of Ryan Moore is a big plus.

Bolsena has run well a couple of times in this grade including when beaten just a neck at Goodwood last time.

She’s down in trip but her stamina could be an asset if the ground softens.

Spiritual went close in a York Listed race over this trip and looks a danger for the Gosden team.

3.35

CITY OF TROY is on a different level to these and the Derby winner can cope with dropping in distance, especially with the likely soft ground playing to his stamina.

There was give underfoot when he landed the Epsom Classic and it would be a massive upset if he doesn’t come home first.

Dancing Gemini had to make a big effort from the back in the Derby and ran out of petrol in the closing stages.

He is bred to stay but it could be this shorter trip plays to his strengths after an excellent second in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket. He is another who won’t mind what the ground does.

Ghostwriter was a good fourth in the French Derby for Clive Cox and looks his main threat for the forecast spot.

The ground could go against Jayarebe who relished fast conditions when winning at Royal Ascot. Brian Meehan’s colt has talent but wouldn’t want it too testing.
