Biden, 81, was sitting down with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos when he began to stutter.

“For example today, I’m on the phone with the Prime Minister of,” Biden said before faltering.

“Well I shouldn’t get into detail but Netanyahu. I’m on the phone with the.. new Prime Minister of England.”

Biden is referring to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who was elected Friday in a landslide victory and is in fact the prime minister of the whole United Kingdom not just England.

The president had congratulated Starmer on his victory earlier Friday.

“Congratulations to Prime Minister Keir Starmer on becoming Prime Minister of the United Kingdom,” Biden wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“I look forward to our shared work in support of freedom and democracy around the world, and to further strengthening the special relationship between our two countries.”

During the interview with Stephanopoulos, Biden dispelled claims that he didn’t have the cognitive ability to run a second term, telling the journalist that his doctors were not worried about his mental health.

“Do you dispute that there have been more lapses, especially in the last several months?” Stephanopoulos asked.

“Can I run the 100 in 10 flat? No. But I’m still in good shape,” Biden said.

Stephanopoulos later asked Biden if he thought he was mentally fit to do the job for another four years.

“I believe so. I wouldn’t be runnin’ if I didn’t think I did,” Biden said.

“Look, I’m runnin’ again because I think I understand best what has to be done to take this nation to a completely new…new level. We’re on our way. We’re on our way.”

Biden used the recent Supreme Court decision to further his point.

“And, look. The decision recently made by the Supreme Court on immunity, you know, the next President of the United States, it’s not just about whether he or she knows what they’re doin’,” he continued.

“It’s– it’s– it’s not– not about a con– a conglomerate of people making decisions,” he stated.

“It’s about the character of the president. The character of the president’s gonna determine whether or not this Constitution is employed the right way.”
