US Supreme Court revives debit card 'swipe fees' challenge

WASHINGTON, D.C: Businesses could challenge some federal rules more effectively with the U.S. Supreme Court this week reviving a challenge to a Federal Reserve regulation by a North Dakota convenience store on debit card "swipe fees".

The 6-3 decision reversed a lower court's dismissal of the 2021 lawsuit by the Corner Post, challenging the 2011 rule governing the amount businesses must pay banks when customers
