Can cinema change the world?

In the first week of August, over 20 documentaries from the world cinema of the real will be screened in Limassol as the Lemesos International Documentary Festival returns. In its 19th edition this year, the festival offers an unparalleled programme of screenings for the fans of the documentary genre.

Its diverse programme includes award-winning creative documentary titles from all parts of the world. Alongside the film screenings, the festival will welcome an array of international and local guests, hosting Q&A sessions, music events, DJ sets and open-air parties with a true summer vibe.

Τhe 19th edition of Lemesos International Documentary Festival unspools on August 1-8 at Ceronia Hall – Lanitis Carob Mill, in the old town of Limassol, next to the Medieval Castle, and invites audiences to watch extraordinary stories from the cinema of the real. All films are Cyprus premieres.

This year’s showcase of documentaries is defined by an immersive gaze, bold voices, and a multi-dimensional use of the film medium in storytelling. Thematically, the films deal with the human existence and its surrounding environment – political, social, economic, climatic, technological. The festival invites audiences to enticing encounters with the cinema of the real posing the question: can cinema change the world?
