LASG URGES FINANCIAL AID RECIPIENTS TO USE FUNDS JUDICIOUSLY
… Presents Cheques To Another Batch of 200 Beneficiaries
Lagos State Government has urged the recipients of its ongoing financial assistance programme to use the funds provided through the scheme judiciously and meaningfully for the betterment of their lives and families.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Political. Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen gave the advice during the presentation of Financial Assistance cheques to another set of 200 beneficiaries, on Thursday at Alausa, Ikeja.
According to him, the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Mr. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is committed to supporting Lagosians during these challenging times. It is however crucial that the funds provided are used for their intended purposes to ensure that the benefits of these programmes reach as many people as possible and contribute to the overall development and prosperity of the citizens and the State in general.
Afolabi therefore appealed to the recipients to prioritise the essential reasons given in their application letters written to the State such as housing needs, healthcare, education, and establishment of small-scale businesses and ensure that those needs are met for their personal and economic growth towards achieving financial stability.
In her remarks, Permanent Secretary, Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Engr, Abiola Kosegbe appealed to all the recipients to be ambassadors of the Office and propagate the gospel of the Citizensgate 2.0 Application, a platform developed to bring governance closer to the people.
“Our new slogan for the Lagos State CitizensGate 2.0 App is “See Something, Say Something and We will do Something” because we already have over 100 Ministries, Departments and Agencies on board and trained resolvers that are ready to attend to your queries, enquiries, complaints and suggestions. They are also trained to act promptly to the feedback that you might have for us”, she added.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Adewuyi Bakare appreciated the Lagos State Government for its effort in prioritising the welfare of its citizens and promised to give back to the Government through the production of an enlightenment programme on how to be civically responsible in Lagos State and Nigeria.
The financial assistance programme is part of the State Government’s efforts to bring succour to residents, irrespective of tribe, gender and religion, facing genuine economic challenges.
