New Delhi: Nita Ambani couldn’t control her tears as the Mumbai Indians and Reliance Industries co-owner welcomed India’s T20 World Cup-winning members Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya on stage during Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities in Mumbai. Incidentally, the trio represents Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. MI pacer Jasprit Bumrah was also expected to be present at the event but could not since he was travelling.
The whole Indian team have receiving hero’s welcome wherever they are going. It was similar for Hardik, Surya and Rohit too as they were welcomed with blessings from the almighty. After that Nita Ambani called the trio on stage as the whole auditorium stood up and clapped the whole time. Visibly emotional, Nita Ambani explained how this win is so personal for her since the three stalwarts are also part of her Mumbai Indians family.

Reliving the excitement of the much-awaited T20 World Cup final win as well as the thrilling last over of the match, she mentioned how the nation watched with bated breath and with hearts in their mouths as the Indian team carved victory out of a nearly impossible situation
She also echoed the people’s sentiment around Hardik aptly, stating “Tough Times don’t last but Tough People Do!” Mukesh Ambani echoed the sentiment of her wife as he congratulated the cricketers for making India proud. He mentioned how it took him back to the feeling of the last Indian World Cup win of 2011. Several Mumbai Indians players and other India cricketers relished the moments in the audience including Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Krunal Pandya, KL Rahul and all-time great Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
“We are all family here. But I have another family, which has made the nation proud and has made everybody’s heart swell with pride and because of who the celebrations don’t stop. So, I cannot tell you what an overwhelming feeling it is to have my Mumbai Indians’ family here with me tonight. Tonight is a day of celebration, but tonight besides Anant and Radhika, we are going to celebrate India,” Nita Ambani said.
