Trump flipped out on Project 2025 over 'controversial' acts: reporter

Appearing on CNN early Saturday morning, a reporter for NOTUS claimed Donald Trump threw the Project 2025 authors under the bus because they too closely associated themselves with him and were creating controversies his re-election campaign didn't need.

Mid-Friday the former president harshly criticized on his Truth Social platform the authors of the proposals for his presidency if he returns to the Oval Office.

According to Trump, "I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they’re saying and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them."

Speaking with CNN's Victor Blackwell, Reese Gorman claimed the highly inflammatory comments made by Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts — considered the architect of authoritarian Project 2025 — that hinted at post-election violence infuriated the former president.

As Gorman noted, Roberts' claim, "We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless ― if the left allows it to be," was a key factor in the schism.

"He is trying to distance himself quite heavily because of some controversial things that happened with this. The Heritage Foundation president saying currently Americans and the midst of a second revolutionary war or, I mean, some of these stances on abortion within this plan to contrary to Trump's stance on abortion," Gorman told the CNN host.

"So there is some daylight there and they're trying to separate that," he continued, "and also the thing that I reported yesterday with my colleague was that what really kind of made the Trump campaign upset was that this group of people were going around promising cabinet and sub-cabinet level positions to certain people that they quote-unquote, 'had no business sharing or offering these to."
