Keano has slightly simmered down since his retirement, although he’s still prone to a blistering rant every now and then.

The once-feared midfielder now has no issue opening up on his emotions, so much so that he recently revealed the last time he cried.

When asked about the last time he shed a tear during the latest episode of the Stick to Football podcast, Keane replied: “Last night.”

Keane was overcome with emotion after receiving a heartfelt video from one of his four daughters.

He continued: “My daughter done a video and I thought it was really lovely.”

Keane’s admission surprised his fellow former players Gary Neville, Jill Scott and Ian Wright.

The latter said: “You know something, Roy. I’m really pleased to hear that because when I watched it, it moved me.”

Wright wasn’t as shocked at the thought of Keane crying as Neville and Scott as they recently shed a tear while watching the hit new Disney movie Inside Out 2.

Roy Keane's angriest moments

What really ticks off Roy Keane?

The Irishman is known for his no-nonsense approach to football.

And some particular things really do get on Keane’s wick.

It all makes for great entertainment for fans, who love the Man United legend’s take on the beautiful game.

But is Keane being a bit too sensitive himself?

From smiling players to ABBA, nothing is sacred.

And we all know about his dislike for a prawn sarnie…

Here are the things that really make Roy Keane angry.

The Arsenal legend said: “He’s acting like he weren’t crying, I heard him crying.”

Keane’s old hardman ways quickly came over him as he brushed off the notion of crying at a kids film by saying: “I had hay fever.”

Wright replied: “He’s saying he had hay fever. We sat where there was one seat and there’s one in between and there’s another seat.

“And I remember there was a bit in it, because you know what it was, we can’t give spoilers, but I think it was.”

Neville and Scott couldn’t help but laugh, with the former saying: “Imagine them two crying in a movie.”

After once again dismissing Keane’s claim that hayfever got the better of him, Wright said: “If you can watch that and you don’t break down, you know what I mean, bam.

“If you do break down, send us a bunch of flowers.”
