My $3 hardware buy isn’t pretty but it gets rid of wrinkles and made my 11s disappear for good – it lasted two years

A CHEAP hardware supply helped one woman defy the visible signs of aging on her face.

She said the bizarre beauty habit permanently erased the vertical lines between her eyebrows.

She shared the hack on Reddit’s 30 Plus Skincare forum, which has almost 2 million members.

FACE FIXER

In response to a user asking about facial taping, the woman revealed she achieved her desired anti-aging results with the method.

“100% disappearance and no recurrence of 11s with tape,” she said, writing under the handle Jasperjohns.

“Been doing it for about 15 years. I also do facial massage for 11s.”

However, she confessed that she doesn’t use a brand of tape designed for skincare.

“Major confession time and time for more downvotes: I use duct tape,” she said.

“Yep. One roll lasts me two years.

“It’s not pretty or pink or a pleasing shape or ‘approved’ for skin but it works just great, and has no effect on my skin.”

The Redditor advised anyone who wanted to try the hack to do a patch test first.

She shared how she successfully uses duct tape without any adverse reactions.

“I apply my retinol and occasionally peptides at night and let them dry,” she said.

“So there’s a barrier between my skin and the duct tape adhesive, not that is really actually a concern for me but thought I might mention it.

“Then I cut a thinnish piece that will fit between my eyebrows and then cut another the same and place it on top so that the tape is thick and I can’t frown even if I want to.

“Stays on all night with no issues, I have not tried for smile lines.”

  • Keep your skin hydrated internally by drinking water and externally with moisturizer.
  • Always use sunscreen, even if you’re not in direct sunlight.
  • Use Vitamin C to brighten the skin and don’t forget to apply to your neck.

The woman expected to receive backlash for confessing that she uses duct tape on her face, but instead received many upvotes.

STICKY SOLUTION

Scotch Cloth Duct Tape costs just $3.29 at Target, where customers have given it a 4.5-star rating.

According to the manufacturer, the rubber adhesive has been designed for “everyday needs” and is suitable for many different surfaces.

However, none of the glowing reviews speak about using it to get rid of wrinkles.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Martin Newman told the Cleveland Clinic that face-taping only provides “short-lived” results.

He said wrinkles come back once the tape is removed.

The hack also comes with possible side effects such as irritation, allergic reactions, and scarring.

He warned that the “outer layer of the skin” can be taken off with tape, therefore it’s important to use only those designs for beauty purposes.
