Waterfront Blues Festival Day 3 brings the heat

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Portland's biggest party of the summer is set to bring the heat - literally and figuratively - in its third day Saturday.

With afternoon highs expected to break records at close to 103 degrees, Blues Fest has several accommodations to help attendees beat the heat, including:

  • Several tented and tree-shaded areas.
  • Misting stations
  • Unlimited free water at stations throughout festival grounds. Reusable cups and ice will also be available.
  • A fully-staffed first aid tent
  • An updated umbrella policy, which now allows for personal umbrellas up to 62 inches.
  • A Waterfront Blues Festival Chill Center located on the second floor of the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront hotel. It will be open to all festival attendees from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Festival goers can also look forward to performances beginning at noon on both the Blues and Front Porch stages, as well as sets from artists including local singer Lo Steele and Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals.
