In an attempt to right the ship, the New York Mets have announced the following moves to the bullpen. Right-handed pitcher Ty Adcock has been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse and right-handed pitcher Eric Orze has been selected from Syracuse. After last night’s blowout loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates, it was evident that changes had to be made to the bullpen. Adcock came in to relieve Jake Diekman and proceeded to give up three home runs in the 8th inning to add insult to injury.

Eric Orze is selected at a time when the Mets need him the most. With another nine straight games to go before the all-star break, Orze will give the Mets bullpen a new face, with an incredible story to his name. He is no stranger to facing adversity, having survived testicular and skin cancer prior to being drafted by the Mets in 2020. An emotional day for Orze as the former Privateer will look to make his MLB debut this evening in Pittsburgh after 133 appearances in the Mets minor league system. This season for Syracuse, Orze posted a 3.76 ERA in 26 appearances with 56 strikeouts and a 1.33 WHIP.
