A Neuropolitical Gedankenexperiment

Albert Einstein and Niels Bohr argued endlessly about whether quantum mechanics was a complete theory of physics with Einstein holding that it wasn’t. They tossed Gedanken Experiments (translation: thought experiments) at each other like teenagers throwing cherry bombs at each other.

Well it’s time for you weigh in on a neurological and political thought experiment. There has been a great hue and cry for President Biden to take cognitive tests to see if he is neurologically impaired. They come from a former White House Physician, Ronny Jackson, Dr. Sanjay Gupta of CNN and many Republicans.

Here is the thought experiment. Suppose Biden takes and passes them. Would that mean that he is mentally intact?

Are today’s docs so beaten down by using tests to document diagnoses for insurance companies that they don’t believe what they are seeing and need a test to prove it.

Fortunately, the American public is smarter than they are and has already made up its mind about Biden’s cognition.
