Both teams were strong in the circle on Saturday, but HILL UNITED CHIEFS defeated Team Canada 1-0. MARCO DIAZ started the game for HILL UNITED CHIEFS and recorded 21 outs. The bottom of the lineup was strong for HILL UNITED CHIEFS. PIPILO (EDGAR) LOPEZ, JOSH MCGOVERN, and LUCHI BIONDI combined for four of the team’s seven hits in their victory.
HILL UNITED CHIEFS got on the board in the fifth inning after a wild pitch scored one run. DIAZ earned the win for HILL UNITED CHIEFS. Diaz allowed five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking none. Tyler Randerson took the loss for Team Canada. The starting pitcher went three innings, giving up zero runs on three hits, striking out one and walking two. LOPEZ and BIONDI were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for HILL UNITED CHIEFS. HILL UNITED CHIEFS were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. TONY GONZALEZ had the most chances in the field with nine. Brett Larson led Team Canada with two hits in two at bats. Team Canada turned one double play in the game.
