‘I need this’ Primark shoppers say after spotting summer essential inspired by a 2000s animated classic
PRIMARK fans have been sent into a frenzy after spotting a new summer essential inspired by a Noughties classic.
The high street retailer is known for creating collections to honour Disney favourites and nostalgic movies we grew up with, whether that’s Lilo & Stitch or High School Musical and Hannah Montanna.
And now the discount favourite’s collection is expanding once again, as their Shrek range is hitting the store’s shelves.
The green ogre-themed line, which became available to public earlier this year, boasts an array of goodies, including Shrek print cropped pyjamas, a three-pack of socks for £4.50 and oversized T-shirts.
But as well going totally wild over their stylish hoodies, slippers and even wash bags, Primark fans recently spotted another addition – Shrek Wrap Towel and Headband Set.
Priced at an affordable £12, the wrap towel is the hottest summer essential you need, whether that’s chilling on the beach or soaking up the sun by the pool.
This season’s must-have, which is sure to come in handy for those jetting off abroad, is available in sizes XS/S to L/XL – and if you want to show your love for this unconventional fairytale, do it in true swamp style with this self-care ready wrap towel and headband set.
”Made with a soft, cotton towelling fabric in an iconic green, this set boasts both a wrap towel with thick straps, a self-fastening strip, and a Shrek design, as well as a coordinating stretch headband complete with adorable ogre ears,” Primark wrote in the description of the product.
”Now your love for the iconic films will never be Far Far Away!”

One customer of the store, Katie (@catherineeclark), recently took to TikTok to share the find to her followers and fellow Shrek super fans.
”New in Primark,” Katie wrote in the caption of the clip, alongside a heart eyes emoji.
After the shopper showed what the green garment looked like from all angles, dozens of viewers flocked to comments to share their thoughts and tag their pals.
”I think we should all get this,” one person told their friend.
”I need this,” chimed in another who reckoned the £12 buy wasn’t a want but a need.
Primark's history
PRIMARK first opened in 1969 as Pennies in Dublin, hoping to provide affordable fashion in Ireland.
A Primark store officially opened as Primark in 1974 in Derby.
The retailer now has 193 stores across the UK and 441 stores worldwide with a goal of running 530 stores by the end of 2026.
”Primark always with the bangers,” a shopper praised the high street favourite.
”Oh my days,” a fourth couldn’t believe the bargain find.
As well as 191 stores across the UK, Primark also boasts 24 branches in the US across eight different states.
But Shrek fans still insist they’re “crying in American” after realising they will struggle to get their hands on the movie merchandise.
