07/07/2024: Some Relief From the Humidity

The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast from Meteorologist Kevin Appleby:

While still slightly muggy, the humidity has dropped considerably compared to Saturday, a theme that will carry us into the start of the work week. Dry conditions persist into late Monday, when dew points climb back into the 70s to coincide with increasing chances for rain & thunderstorms.

I would argue we saved the best day of the Holiday Weekend for last. While it will certainly be hot again this afternoon with highs in the 80s to near 90, I'm not concerned about showers or thunderstorms today - which was not the case the previous three days.

Lower humidity means lower temperatures at night, which is what is in our forecast tonight. I do think it will be a struggle to drop below 60, but the A/C's should still finally get a break tonight.

Kicking off the work week, I do expect slightly hotter conditions, with a better chance to eclipse the 90 degree mark. The humidity may tick upwards later in the day, and I cannot rule out an isolated t-storm around sunset.

Tuesday to me looks similar to what we just dealt with yesterday - dew points in the low to mid 70s. And while there is the chance for a few showers & thunderstorms, the day looks largely dry. Similar humidity levels will linger for the remainder of the work week.

We will be keeping a close eye on what will by then be post-tropical cyclone Beryl. What's left of that looks to bring us rain & thunderstorms towards the end of the week. There remains some uncertainty with the long-range forecast as to just how long the remnants of Beryl stick around.

The wettest days appear to be Wednesday and Thursday with on-again, off-again showers and thunderstorms. We will continue to monitor rain chances for next weekend over the coming days.
