B&M Gainsborough in Lincolnshire accumulated hundreds of rave reviews over its time on Lord St.

Customers now have just days to shop in the beloved store as it prepares to roll down the shutters on Wednesday July 17.

But a brand new store will open at an old Wilko site just three days later on Saturday July 20.

Located at Units 11 & 12, Marshalls Yard, B&M promises an even bigger, better store will stand ready to welcome shoppers just three days after the Lord St farewell.

It comes as part of a B&M effort to unveil 14 new sites across the country this year.

The budget retailer currently claims 700 stores but wants to expand to 950.

Cannock in Staffordshire, Arndale in Manchester and Victoria Chambers in Derby have all been earmarked to gain new stores by the end of July.

The relocated Gainsborough store has been situated right in the middle of town in close proximity to the central train station.

A B&M statement said: “Our B&M Bargains store in Gainsborough is situated close to the River Trent in the middle of the town, and is easily accessible for local shoppers to use, as well as visitors to the area popping in for a quick bargain.

“Alongside everyday essentials that are readily available in-store, shoppers will also be surprised to find a massive product range covering many useful categories.

“They include toys & games, electrical, DIY, pet accessories, food & drink and health & beauty.

“Conveniently, our B&M Bargains store in this location is a few minutes walk from Gainsborough Central train station for those looking to travel by rail.”

“On the other hand, the Gainsborough bus station is close by and has 4 stands catering to many bus routes including the 1, 2, 61, 95, 97, 98, 100, 105, 106, 107 and 195.

“You’ll find parking available, but it is advised that you check for any restrictions or time limits before your visit.”

Shoppers took to social media to share their views on the relocation.

One wrote on a Facebook post: “Plenty of people go to Marshalls Yard.
