NY Times reporter hilariously sticks it to 'sex abuser' Trump after Truth Social attack

The New York Times' Peter Baker got the last laugh on Sunday after former president Donald Trump smeared Baker and his wife, Susan Glasser of the New Yorker, early Sunday morning on Truth Social.

In the midst of a multi-post tirade aimed at Fox News, the convicted felon one-term president took time out to attack the couple -- oddly putting "couple" in quotation marks.

In his trademark all-caps yelling style, Trump wrote, "PETER BAKER AND SUSAN GLASSER, THE FAKE OBAMA LOVING 'JOURNALISTS' WHO HAVE NO TALENT AND REFUSE TO WRITE THE TRUTH, ARE FAILING BADLY, ALONG WITH THE NEW YORK TIMES. THIS LOVELY 'COUPLE' IS A ONE SIDED, CONFUSED, AND HIGHLY CONFLICTED MESS. BAKER WRITES SO INACCURATELY ABOUT ME THAT HE HAS LOST ALL CREDIBILITY, ALONG WITH THE FAILING NEW YORK TIMES, WHICH AT SOME POINT WILL BE PUT TO REST IN THE GRAVEYARD OF BAD AND INACCURATE JOURNALISM. THEY HAVE CALLED ME WRONG FROM DAY ONE, EVEN HAVING TO APOLOGIZE TO THEIR READERS FOR THEIR FAKE REPORTING IN 2016. IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN, BUT BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE!"

Appearing on MSNBC on Sunday morning with an amused Jen Psaki, Baker was asked about the seemingly out-of-left-field attack by Trump which the MSNBC host labeled "nonsensical."

That allowed Baker to list off Trump's criminal history and dictatorial ambitions to the delight of Psaki.

"What did you think that was about when you saw it? " she asked.

"If you notice, please tell me," the bemused Baker replied. "I don't know. My wife works at the New Yorker. We wrote a book obviously on Trump called The Divider."

"You know, the only thing I can think of is maybe he was watching TV someplace and someplace happened to mention that and got him riled up," he admitted. "I don't know honestly why he would say that at this particular moment."

"I did write a piece the other day he probably didn't like in which I pointed out where the Democrats were up in arms about a nominee who they think is too old, but the Republicans are perfectly fine with a nominee who is a convicted felon, an adjudicated sex abuser and fraudster, and an aspiring dictator for a day and all those things."

"Maybe that got to him, I don't know. If you have an idea, please tell me," he said with a smile to which Psaki replied with a grin, "I suspect that may have been it, but who knows what's in his mind."
