Leeds had a well earned reputation as a dirty team. But as the 70s moved on had great players and relied less on the dark side. Liverpool never got the criticism, always been the media darlings but Ron Yeats was probably the worst of the lot Case and Sourness were both nasty at times to.

Ron Yeats left Liverpool in 1971 so hardly relevant to this discussion. On top of which he wasn't a dirty player, just hard as nails.

Most defenders were in those days.

Possibly the two dirtiest players of that era played for Leeds.

Giles and Clarke. Great footballers but always leaving a foot in and other dark arts on the refs blindside.

As for the back pass every team overdid it back then, worldwide. That's why the law was changed.
