NY Gremlins Shut Out Saskatoon Jacks 5-0 Behind Migliavacca’s Gem

The NY Gremlins defeated the Saskatoon Jacks 5-0 on Saturday, July 6 thanks to a dominant pitching performance from Pablo Migliavacca.

Migliavacca was lights out, throwing a complete game shutout. He allowed just 3 hits and no walks while striking out 7 over 7 innings. The Jacks were unable to mount any offense against the Gremlins ace.

On the other side, Jacks starter J Hudson struggled, allowing 5 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits and 2 walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out only 1. R Yantzi came on in relief and fared better, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings.

The Gremlins were led offensively by Erick Ochoa, who went 2-for-2 with a home run, 2 RBI and a walk. B Abrey also had a good day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double and triple. Lucio Retamar, Blainw Milheim and Bryan Abrey each drove in a run as well.

The Jacks scattered just 3 hits, with M Major collecting 2 of them. They were shut out by the dominance of Migliavacca.

NY Gremlins outsted Saskatoon Jacks 24 5-0 on Saturday.

NY Gremlins opened the scoring in the fourth after Bryan Abrey tripled, scoring one run.

Four more NY Gremlins runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 5-0. An error scored one run, Blaine Milheim doubled, scoring one run, and Erick Ochoa homered to center field, scoring two runs.

Pablo Migliavacca earned the win for NY Gremlins. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none. Jordan Hudson took the loss for Saskatoon Jacks 24. The right-handed pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out one and walking two.

Erick Ochoa provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led NY Gremlins with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-2 on the day. NY Gremlins’s Bryan Abrey made the most of their chances at the plate. The number seven hitter led the team with two hits in two at bats. NY Gremlins turned one double play in the game. NY Gremlins didn’t commit a single error in the field. Bryan Abrey had the most chances in the field with eight.

Max Major led Saskatoon Jacks 24 with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position.

NY Gremlins will travel to Team Canada for their next game on Sunday.
