Heavy rains in Nepal over the past 36 hours have triggered landslides and flash floods, resulting in the tragic death of at least 11 people. Key highways and roads have been blocked due to the natural disasters.

According to police spokesperson Dan Bahadur Karki, eight people are currently missing, presumed washed away by floods or buried under landslides. Additionally, 12 others have sustained injuries and are receiving medical treatment, Reuters reported.

In Kathmandu, the capital city surrounded by hills, several rivers have breached their banks, causing flooding on roads and inundating numerous houses.

Local media reports depict scenes of residents navigating waist-deep water and using buckets to empty their flooded homes, illustrating the severity of the situation.
