Jayson Tatum wasn’t the only Celtics star who the storied organization extended after winning the NBA championship.

Derrick White also inked a big new deal with Boston, which was officially announced Saturday alongside Tatum’s. White, who the Celtics acquired in a trade before the 2022 deadline, was going to enter the 2024-25 on an expiring contract, but he’s now not slated to hit NBA free agency until 2030.

Tatum took a moment to celebrate his own pact, which established a new record for the richest in league history. But on Sunday, the five-time All-Star made sure to salute White on his Instagram story.

“My dawg right here,” Tatum captioned a photo of the two embracing.

Tatum and White putting pen to paper carried out a theme of Brad Stevens and company locking down a championship core. Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis both signed Celtics extensions in July of last year and Jrue Holiday secured a new multi-year deal before the start of the postseason.

Those benchmarks bode bad news for the rest of the NBA, as the Celtics are poised to be perennial title contenders for years to come.
