A Met Police officer who guarded senior royals before his wife accused him of domestic and sexual abuse appears to have returned to work.

The woman, who has not been named, reported him for forcing rough sex on her, assaulting her and psychologically abusing her during their 10-year marriage.

Suspended from duties as a result earlier this year, the unnamed officer is due to be questioned over the allegations, Mail on Sunday reports.

However, she now says she’s furious to discover the officer she described as ‘a danger to women’ has recently returned to work.

The woman claimed the abuse was a ‘constant’ in their relationship, even while he rose through the ranks to the role of protecting members of the Royal Family.

She alleges he pressured her into rough sex, which she felt unable to refuse for fear of upsetting him.

‘He’s a big drinker, so he would get to a certain point and then he would start on me’, she said.

In one incident, the police officer allegedly attacked her in the shower after a night out.

She said: ‘He grabbed me by the throat and screamed ‘don’t you ever embarrass me again’ and slapped me around the face so hard I saw lights.’

The control extended to deciding what she would where and where she went. She said: ‘I had to run everything through him and he had to take me everywhere and pick me up.’

He was also allegedly threatening to the woman’s sons from a previous marriage, particularly her eldest child.

She said: ‘He used to threaten to knock him out.’

The woman initially reported her husband in 2021, having separated from him in 2020, but this complaint was dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

She reported him again last September, this time for stalking her. Officers encouraged her to make new claims of sexual assault and battery.

Although he was suspended from duty, the officer returned to work this June, leading her to complain to police again.

The Metropolitan Police said: ‘In May, we were notified by another force that they had received an allegation relating to an officer attached to the Royalty and Specialist Protection Command.

‘An investigation is being carried out by Nottinghamshire Police. The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards is aware.

‘The officer has been placed on restricted duties.’
