Celtics Seemingly Reveal Some Participants For Summer League Team

Given the Celtics star-studded roster, Boston’s younger players never really got an opportunity during the team’s championship run.

But the Celtics youngsters will get their chance in the upcoming Summer League.

The Celtics have yet to announce their full roster for the summer showcase, but revealed Sunday in a social media video some of the players preparing to play out in Las Vegas.

The Celtics posted a practice highlight video which all but confirmed the Summer League participation of 2023 draft pick Jordan Walsh, two-way forward Drew Peterson, 2024 first-round pick Baylor Scheierman and athletic center Neemias Queta, who just signed a contract extension.

The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach reported last week Jaden Springer, who was acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers during the middle of this past season, 2024 second-round pick Anton Watson, JD Davison and undrafted free agent Tristan Enaruma are all expected to play as well. It was also reported that Ron Harper Jr. will join Boston in the desert.

Himmelsbach noted that assistant D.J. MacLeay will be the head coach of Boston’s Summer League squad.

The Celtics begin a four-game Summer League slate Saturday against the Miami Heat before taking on Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers the following Monday.
