The Boston Celtics haven’t made any major changes this offseason, however, the front office did take a last-minute flyer before announcing the team’s Summer League roster.

Boston welcomed Ron Harper Jr. aboard its Las Vegas roster, according to Richie O’Leary of The Knight Report, giving the Celtics a contender for one of their final two open two-way spots — Drew Peterson filled the first vacancy by re-signing.

Harper, 24, averaged 15.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and one steal while shooting 44.2% from the field and 39.8% from 3-point territory during his senior season at Rutgers. Harper then went undrafted in 2022 before signing a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors, averaging 2.2 points and logging 5.3 minutes in nine games as a rookie.

Toronto waived Harper in December after he suffered a season-ending left shoulder injury and was limited to one game.

Securing a spot on the defending NBA champion Celtics roster won’t be easy. Boston selected sharpshooter Baylor Scheierman (30th overall) and Anton Watson (54th overall) in June’s NBA draft — both of which Boston president of basketball operations Brad Stevens felt impressed with before the Celtics were on the clock.

Boston plays its first Summer League game Saturday against the Miami Heat.
