AUSTIN (KXAN) — The San Antonio Spurs made it official Sunday and signed 12-time NBA all-star point guard Chris Paul.

After the Golden State Warriors waived Paul on June 30, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the 19-year NBA veteran had agreed to a 1-year deal with the Spurs worth more than $11 million. The Spurs didn't release the terms of the contract.

Paul joins the Spurs after the team used its No. 4 overall draft pick on Connecticut point guard Stephon Castle amid a rebuild centered around Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama.

Paul ranks third all-time in NBA history with 11,894 assists and 2,614 steals and was a member of the NBA's 75th anniversary team. He's the only player in league history to have at least 22,000 points, 11,000 assists and 2,500 steals and he has a career assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.01 — fourth best in NBA history.
