Grey skies and glassy little waves

Hello Friends,

A light NW breeze smoothed off the surface conditions for the morning crew who were greeted with grey skies, misty passing showers and a 1.5 metre SE swell with a 14 second period. It looked kinda lully, but as you can see from the snaps, wave faces were nudging the chest-high mark at the point and along the beach. The long period will mean a higher percentage of shutdowns on the beaches, but points and reefs should be fun. First tide of the day was the high at 0920. It’ll be back to low at 1445. Weather should remain showery, but lightly so and wind is expected to be 10-15 kts from the N-NE by around lunch.

Tomorrow will be rainy again, but the swell energy should bump up thanks to some NE energy mixing in with the southerly long period stuff. Wednesday’s looking hopeful with sunny skies and little easterly-ish bumps in the waist plus range…

From Thursday onward, things look intriguing shall we say. If the models have it right, we could be in for a run of fun and possibly challenging conditions as we head into another showery weekend.

Go well with your Monday everyone!
