Child, 2, in critical condition after east Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A two-year-old boy is hospitalized after a shooting in east Columbus Sunday night.

According to Columbus police, the shooting happened at approximately 9 p.m. on the 4000 block of Carlton Avenue on the east side of Columbus.

A Columbus police sergeant at the scene said the shooting happened as the boy was outside with his mother when a car drove by and fired shots.

The child is listed in critical condition at an area hospital.

Police are looking for a four-door grey or silver sedan and are continuing to investigate at the scene.
