Festival turns fatal: High-voltage wire claims 5 lives during chariot procession

BOGRA, Bangladesh - On Sunday afternoon, electrocution killed five people and wounded around 50 others, some gravely, during the Ratha Yatra, or chariot festival, in Bogra's Seujgari district.

According to witnesses, the Ratha Yatra began around 5 p.m. at the Iskcon temple in Seujgari, as it does each year.

Many people took part, some riding in the chariot and others strolling along holding the ropes.
