‘That baby has no fighting chance’ trolls say as mum-to-be, 63, films chaotic gender reveal with husband, 26

A COUPLE with a 37-year age gap have been slammed by trolls after sharing their chaotic gender reveal.

Cheryl McGregor, 63, is having a baby with her toyboy husband Quran McCain, 26 – but critics fear the baby doesn’t have a “fighting chance”.

Cheryl is a prominent face on social media and has totted up nearly five million followers on TikTok sharing insights into her unconventional relationship

The nan-of-17 first met Quran when he was aged 15 and working at a fast food restaurant managed by her son.

Their relationship blossomed a few years later and they tied the knot in September 2021.

Since the wedding, the pair have been open about their desire to start a family of their own – despite Cherly already having seven children in their Thirties and Forties.

Back in May, they announced they were having a baby through a surrogate

Now, the couple have shared a video of their chaotic gender reveal – and it’s not gone down well with fans.

The first balloon they popped had multicolour confetti inside, so Cheryl and Quran went to the garden to set off coloured smoke cannons.

They were over the moon when a cloud of pink smoke appeared, meaning they are expecting a girl.

The couple – both from Georgia, US – shared a clip from the celebration on Instagram.

But not everyone shared their joy.

“I hope this is a joke,” Joanna Robidoux commented.

“A baby needs a fighting chance.”

“Poor baby,” Jasmin Singh said.

“Good idea – give her a mum for 10 years,” Lindsey Seigel added.

The world's most expensive gender reveals

GENDER reveals are becoming bigger and more elaborate day by day, with people constantly thinking of different ways to up those before them.

And money is no issue for a lot of these couples – with some spending hundreds or thousands on the event.

Read on for some of the most expensive gender reveals in history.

Ste Hamilton

Wealthy property tycoon and YouTuber Ste Hamilton decided to gift his wife-to-be Isabella Rowles with a £300,000 Lamborghini, which would be in either pink or blue to reflect their baby’s gender.

Steven and Isabella and friends and family attended an extravagant event at the Belfry Hotel and Resort near Birmingham to find out they were having a baby boy.

“It was worth every second of the hard work to see the happiness in everyone’s faces on the day,” Ste said, after spending a further £40,000 on the big reveal.

Logan Paul

The wrestling star and YouTuber and fiancee Nina Agdal staged a public wrestling match for their gender reveal.

A wrestler in pink trunks took on one in blue, with the one in pink emerging victorious – signifying that they are having a baby girl.

Inga Stumbriene

The Lithuanian influencer hired planes to fly in the sky as she, her fiance and their nearest and dearest watched.

The planes dropped a load of blue confetti – revealing the pair were having a boy – but people insisted it was the “most polluted” gender reveal ever.

Anonymous couple

One of the most recent jaw-dropping gender reveals happened in May 2024, when a couple decided to DYE a waterfall to reveal if they were having a boy or girl.

After the videos circulated on the social media, the public demanded for the couple to be punished, with some suggesting they should go to jail.

Others were concerned about water contamination, as the pair had used a powdered chemical known as “Blue Lagoon” into the Queima-Pe River, which feeds the waterfall.

Cherly and Quran tried to conceive naturally before going down the surrogacy route, insisting that they have a great sex life despite the big age gap.

Surrogacy is an adoption arrangement whereby a woman agrees to carry and birth a child on behalf of a couple or individual who will become the child’s parent(s) after birth.

“We are looking for a nice surrogate who is willing to sign a contract to have nothing to do with the child after it’s born,” Quran said in January 2022.

“We don’t want people trying to have a baby for us for financial gain, we are not that financially inclined ourselves.

“Both of Cheryl’s daughters had hysterectomies in the last few years, otherwise they would have been the best option for being as close to a biological child as possible.”

The pair also toyed with adopting a “biracial baby” before deciding to use a surrogate mother.
