During the show both hosts crossed live to Jane McGovern who was on the set of an iconic 70s sitcom.

The correspondent joined the pair from the stage adaption of Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em as she interviewed the cast.

It comes 50 years after the beloved BBC series launched.

Michele Dotrice and Michael Crawford played husband and wife duo Betty and Frank Spencer in the series from 1973 to 1978.

As BBC Breakfast‘s Jane was given a first look at the stage show’s set, one of the crew members made her jump.

During the tour, he said: “He’s [Frank] done a lot of work, as you can see, on the house. Everything is as solid as a rock.”

The production staff then purposely broke several banisters on the staircase in a hilarious nod to the show.

During her set visit Jane also saw a cupboard door get yanked off, as well as being offered a seat – on a chair with just three legs.

The BBC star said: “You might want to sit down here, but not on that chair either!”

Back in the studio Jon and Sarah found the scenes hilarious as they watched their colleague.

Sally Nugent’s absence from Monday’s show wasn’t explained, but it comes just days after Jon, 54, paid tribute to her in a ‘different directions’ post.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
