RUTLAND, Vt. (NEWS10) -- A Rutland, Vermont man faces several charges after being pulled over on Columbian Avenue in Rutland early Monday morning. Police say Eric Stephens, 58, had cocaine on him.

Police pulled Stephens over around 1:36 Monday morning on Columbian Avenue. Police say Stephens was driving with a criminally suspended license and was arrested without incident at that point.

During the stop, police say they observed indicators of drug activity and seized the car in pursuit of a search warrant. Troopers obtained permission to search the car, and say they found a felony amount of cocaine.

Troopers say the investigation led them to find Stephens had court-ordered conditions of release to not possess regulated drugs. He was issued a citation for possession of cocaine, DLS, violation of conditions of release, and being a habitual criminal.

He was then taken to Marble Valley Regional Correctional Center. He was lodged on $100,000 bail.
