'Challenge me!' Biden comes out swinging in surprise call to Morning Joe
President Joe Biden made a surprise call to the MSNBC show Morning Joe to defend his position as the presumptive Democratic nominee and to slam the opponent he chided for telling lies and playing golf.
"He's just a liar!" Biden told MSNBC. "And he hasn't done a damned thing since the debate. He's been riding around the golf cart for 10 days, down in Mar-a-Lago."
Biden made his appearance just as his team released a defiant letter promising to pursue his presidential campaign despite calls that he step aside.

On Monday morning, Biden told hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski he was not compelled by those calls because he felt they came from pundits repeatedly wrong about how elections play out.
"I am not going anywhere," Biden said. "I wouldn't be running if I didn't absolutely believe that I am the best candidate to beat Donald Trump in 2024."
And he had a message for the Democrats baying for him to quit the presidential race.
“Run against me," he said. "Challenge me at the convention."
