Bridgerton's Sam Phillips Reveals If He Could Return as Lord Debling in Future Seasons

Sam Phillips was one of Bridgerton‘s breakout stars of season three!

He portrayed the role of Lord Debling, who briefly courted Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) before her romance with Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

There’s a prevailing fan theory that fans want Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) to end up with Lord Debling, versus the character she ends up with in the book series.

Spoilers ahead! In Eloise’s Bridgerton book, she ends up marrying Sir Phillip Crane, who married Miss Marina Thompson (Ruby Barker) in season one. However, fans online love the idea of Eloise settling down with Debling, who plans to travel abroad for years at a time, leaving Eloise to pursue her own passions.

While Sam‘s Debling only appeared in the first half of season three, he did tease his character could return in the future!

He told Express, “All I know is that there’s a possibility that Debling could come back in the future. And that is all I will say at this point…I can’t give any more than that.”

One Bridgerton star might officially be exiting the series after season three!
