Hidden Samsung button boosts battery life ‘without impacting internet, apps, calls or video’ – quick steps to find it

AN easy-to-use Samsung trick can save battery power without slowing down your device.

Galaxy S24 phones come equipped with the Light Performance mode feature, which enhances heat generation and battery usage.

The tool changes the device’s processing speed to prevent your phone from eating up unnecessary battery power.

However, this won’t be at the expense of activities like surfing the internet, scrolling social media, making phone calls, or streaming videos.

Light Performance mode is easy to activate. Begin by opening the “Settings” menu and tapping “Device care.”

Next, select “Performance profile” and switch from the default “Standard” mode to “Light” mode.

Users can also activate Light mode using the Quick Settings panel, which makes it easier to access.

Once you’ve enabled the feature, swipe down from the top of your screen to open the panel.

Tap the pencil icon and hit the “Edit” button under your preferred layout.

Hold down on the “Performance profile” icon and drag it into the Quick settings panel. Finish by selecting “done.”

Samsung offers additional tips to limit power consumption on a Galaxy device.

Adjusting screen brightness is an easy way to save battery. This can be done by manually lowering the brightness or enabling auto-brightness.

Disabling features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS can prevent battery drain when they aren’t in use.

Users can harness the built-in power-saving mode, which can be toggled on or off under “Battery” in the settings menu.

However, Samsung notes that this feature may impact app and device performance, unlike Light mode.

You can also manage notifications to prevent unnecessary screen wake-ups.

Speaking of screen wake-ups, setting a shorter screen timeout duration can quickly turn off the display when idle.

Perhaps the easiest tip is closing unused apps to free up system resources.

As these apps run in the background, they eat up power and slow other functions down.

Galaxy fans are encouraged to take advantage of other battery-saving tips like putting unused apps to sleep and limiting the number of screen wake-ups[/caption]

Galaxy’s sleeping app settings can prevent battery drain as well. Navigate to “Background usage limits” under the “Battery” tab in “Settings.”

There you can opt to put unused apps to sleep. You can manually add apps to the list and control which will never turn off in the background.

You can set other applications to deep sleep, meaning they only work when you open them.
