Trump tells supporters Biden is dropping out of the race

Former President Donald Trump baselessly told his supporters on Monday morning that President Joe Biden is dropping out of the race.

In an email to his supporters, Trump asked, "Did you hear that Crooked Joe Biden is dropping out of the race?"

The email had the subject line "President Kamala Harris?"

Oddly, Trump attacked the "fake news media" he said turned on Biden. "And he's getting KILLED in the polls!" Trump said with the word "killed" in all capital letters and colored red.

The email then claims he wants to do a personal interview with the individuals receiving the email.

Trump's campaign is known for dialing up false and inflammatory language in fundraising messages.

The Washington Post reported in June that Trump has been sending increasingly manic messages to supporters as a way of ginning up fundraising, such as one email that read, "1 MONTH UNTIL ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE! THEY WANT TO SENTENCE ME TO DEATH.”

The email in question was about Trump's sentencing, which was scheduled for July 11, but was delayed pending Trump's appeal in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling.

Still, Trump claimed he was headed to the "GUILLOTINE," which he also wrote in all capital letters.

“BREAKING FROM TRUMP: JUSTICE IS DEAD IN AMERICA!” another of Trump's emails read. “Their sick & twisted goal is simple: Pervert the justice system against me so much, that proud supporters like YOU will SPIT when you hear my name. NOW IT’S TIME FOR ME & YOU TO SHOVE IT BACK IN THEIR CORRUPT FACES!”

The Post wrote that many of his emails are similar to Trump’s tweet calling for his followers to come to the Jan. 6 rally in 2021: “Be there, will be wild!”

At least one GOP fundraiser was frustrated by Trump's "churn and burn" email strategy, in which the list is hammered until subscribers unsubscribe.

“Rhetorical gimmicks like this poison the well for every other Republican trying to raise money online,” one GOP consultant told The Post at the time. “It burns out small-dollar donors. The Trump campaign is printing money on this, but when you’re already talking about the death penalty in June, what are you going to say in October?”
