'He'll mess up': Democrats urged to 'smoke Trump out' of hiding
During an appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe,'" the Rev. Al Sharpton suggested the best weapon Democrats have against Donald Trump is Trump himself.
Reacting to the chaos that has ensued since the debate with President Joe Biden in which he stumbled, Sharpton pointed out that the former president has been hunkered down on his golf course and avoided public appearances since — and it is time for Democrats to "smoke him out."
Speaking with hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, Sharpton said, "You must put the attention back on Donald Trump. I think that the way you do so is you begin to again remind people that we are talking about a person who has raised such bizarre theories, such as his buddies have come out with this Project 2025, that he's now trying to distance himself from."

"That he is a 34-time convicted felon that has a court date in September, before the election, and you don't know what he's going to do at the Republican convention," he continued.
"I think they should try to smoke him out and make him come out. The one thing the Democrats have to worry about is whether the president is going to stumble on a word. The one thing that Republicans have to worry about is that Donald Trump comes out of the bedroom because, no matter how he speaks, he'll mess up and they know it."
'You've got to force him off the couch, force him out of the bedroom, call on something that you know he's got to respond to and then it goes back to Trump," he added. "And that's the greatest asset. The greatest asset that the Democrats have is Donald Trump, loud and bold."
