President Joe Biden Reiterates He's Not Dropping Out of Presidential Race 2024

President Joe Biden is reaffirming that he’s running.

The 81-year-old President of the United States called into MSNBC’s Morning Joe and told hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski that he is “not going anywhere.”

His statement comes after several news outlets, prominent donors and House Democrats have called for him to step aside after a poor performance during the latest debate against opponent Donald Trump, fueling more concerns about his cognitive abilities and age.

His interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos over the weekend also did not calm anxieties about his ability to run.

“The bottom line is, we’re not going anywhere. I am not going anywhere. I wouldn’t be running if I didn’t absolutely believe I am the best candidate to beat Donald Trump in 2024. We had a Democratic nominating process where the voters spoke clearly,” he said.

“Any of these guys that don’t think I should run, run against me,” Biden said. “Announce for president, challenge me at the convention.”

Biden also sent a letter to congressional Democrats this morning, saying that he is committed to staying in the race. “The question of how to move forward has been well-aired for over a week now. And it’s time for it to end. We have one job. And that is to beat Donald Trump,” Biden wrote. See it in full inside.
