Four injured in Poughkeepsie shooting
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department (CPPD) announced they are investigating a multi-victim shooting that occurred on July 5. Four people were injured during the incident.
On Friday around 3:31 a.m., police responded to 380 Main Street following reports of a shooting assault. Officers arriving to the area were met by a disorderly crowd. Among the group were four people suffering from gunshot wounds.
After being tended to on the scene, the four victims were all taken to nearby hospitals. Police say the victims included a 28-year-old man with life-threatening injuries, and three women, ages 29, 26, and 23, who all sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Main Street was closed for several hours while detectives assessed the scene. CPPD was assisted by multiple agencies, including Town of Poughkeepsie Police, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and state police.
