South Korea-based bakery café opens its doors in Easton

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A South Korea-based bakery café recently opened the doors to its first central Ohio location.

Paris Baguette opened at 3969 Merchants Row in Easton on Friday, marking the bakery’s second location in Ohio, and its first location in the Columbus area. Paris Baguette previously operated only one Ohio storefront, which opened in Cincinnati in 2022.

The bakery took over the building that previously housed LemonShark Poke and Makai Grill, which closed in February 2022, one year after it opened.

The fast-casual eatery serves a variety of cakes, breads, pastries, sandwiches, salads and coffees. Seasonal beverages are available at the Easton store, such as fruit refreshers as well as frozen and iced coffee drinks. The bakery also offers catering services.

“We are a very unique and amazing concept,” Chief Development Officer Eric Lavinder told NBC4 in January. “We do all of our own in-house baking, all of our croissants, all of our breads [and] pastries.”

Lavinder said earlier this year the business has plans to expand in Ohio, with nine franchisees looking for locations in the state, and four specifically looking in the greater Columbus area. Plans for a location in Arlington Gateway have been announced since Lavinder spoke with NBC4, but an opening date has not been made public.

Paris Baguette started in South Korea in 1986 before coming to the United States in 2005. Paris Baguette now has more than 4,000 locations across the globe, including 140 units open in the U.S. across 30 states.

The bakery’s Easton store is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily this summer.
