Everton have officially announced the signing of Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille. The 24-year-old has joined for an undisclosed fee (believed to be around 20 million euros inclusive of add-ons), and has put pen to paper a five-year-deal that will keep him at Goodison Park till 2029.

Ndiaye is a versatile attacking midfielder, and Toffees fans are expecting him to be a long-term replacement for Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Born in Rouen, Ndiaye had a spell at non-league Boreham Wood as a teenager, which saw Sheffield United sign him in 2019. He had a key role to play in the Blades earning promotion in 2022/23, making a total of 52 appearances across all competitions and scoring 15 goals, 14 of which were in the league- he was their top scorer.

Ndiaye’s form at Bramall Lane saw him named in the Senegal squads for both the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. He signed for Marseille last summer, but scored only three league goals for Les Phoceens in Ligue 1.

The 24-year-old is Everton’s third signing of the summer window. Sean Dyche’s men will start the 24/25 campaign with a home fixture against Brighton at Goodison Park next month.
