Christina Hall's Comments on Daughter Taylor's Teen Years Say A Lot About Her Parenting Style
Christina Hall recently opened up about how adolescence is changing her only daughter, and her comments reveal the type of parent she is.
While promoting a new season of her HGTV show, Christina on the Coast, the mom of three spoke to People about the shift in her relationship with Taylor, 13, since she became a teenager. Hall called the experience “wild,” sharing, “She’s just grown up so much from 12 to 13.” The former Flip or Flop star continued, “I just love spending time with her. I love our conversations. We’re closer than ever … I just love being her mom.”
When asked if Taylor is interested in following her career footsteps, Hall said, “I feel like she was more into [interior design] prior to being a teenager. Now, she’s just more into friends and summer, so they want to go to the beach and do their thing.” The real estate investor added, “And I understand and I respect that, but I’m sure when she’s older, if she is interested in buying real estate, that that’s something that she would definitely hop back into.”
We love that Hall is following her daughter’s lead on whether she wants to enter the family business or not — so many parents, famous and non-famous alike, pressure their kids to follow the same career path. Hall clearly values Taylor’s ability to determine her own interests and passions, and she sets a great example for unconditional parental support.
In addition to Taylor, Hall shares her 8-year-old son Braydon with her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa. The HGTV personality is also mom to 4-year-old son Hudson, whom she shares with ex-husband Ant Anstead. Hall married Joshua Hall in April 2022, and he’s a doting stepdad to all three kids.
El Moussa’s wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, opened up about the state of her co-parenting relationship with Christina in June. The two couples are currently working on a joint HGTV competition show called The Flip Off, set to premiere in 2025. During an interview on Tamron Hall, Heather shared, “It’s crazy but everyone is in such a good place and we’re here to give you guys a great show and we’re really excited about it.”
In addition to Tarek’s kids with Christina, he and Heather share a 17-month-old son named Tristan.
