Motorcyclist dies in collision at Inverness Ridge

A motorcyclist died in a collision with a minivan in the Inverness Ridge area.

The California Highway Patrol was notified about the crash around 2:10 p.m. Sunday on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, west of Mount Vision Road.

Investigators determined that the rider of a 2007 Yamaha R6 motorcycle was traveling eastbound when he crossed over the road’s double yellow line and into an oncoming Honda Odyssey minivan, CHP Officer Gunter Silva said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol was not suspected in the incident, authorities reported.

The Marin County coroner’s office did not release the victim’s identity Monday morning as staff worked to contact next of kin. Silva said that the motorcyclist was a 21-year-old Santa Rosa resident.
