And completes an incredible run by Team USA
Someone asked this weekend if this year’s US U17 team was the greatest ever assembled. Well if it’s not, we’d love to know who was better.
This team beat Italy 129-88 to win FIBA Gold but even more than that was how dominant the US was. The numbers are ridiculous. According to Eric Bossi in 24/7 Sports, the US only trailed three times in the entire tournament - 2-1 vs. Italy, 3-0 vs. France and 3-2 vs. Italy.
This team averaged 40 apg. Who does that? Who pulls off 23 steals a game? Who doubles up their opponents in points?
The US did - 128.6 to 64.3.
Those numbers are just mind-boggling. All the members of this team should be followed closely because they really bought in and did something special. Brilliant stuff.
