‘Your new cabinet’: Fyre Fest fraudster is helping Trump connect with rappers

Get ready for former President Donald Trump’s cabinet to include the Secretary of Taking Speedboat Selfies With Rappers To Scam Rich Kids Into Renting Wet Mattresses On Hotel Parking Lots.

Billy McFarland, the “organizer” of the Caribbean music festival that failed so badly it was the subject of two competing documentaries, appears to be helping Trump connect with rap stars.

McFarland posted to Instagram on June 14 a photo of himself standing with Trump in front of two American flags captioned, “Pres’ birthday featuring your new cabinet.”

The next photo in the series shows McFarland with pro-Trump rapper Kodak Black.

Replied one Instagram user, “This is 100% what is wrong with the world as we know it.”

This is not the only instance of McFarland linking Trump to rap stars, Rolling Stone reported Monday.

McFarland helped connect Trump to Detroit rapper Icewear Vezzo, a source told the magazine, and told told media personality Angela Yee he also helped the former president connect with Brooklyn rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, both of whom appeared at the former president’s Bronx rally earlier this year.

Rolling Stone reports McFarland didn’t respond to requests for an interview and Trump’s team denies he has a formal role with the campaign.

But sources also told Rolling Stone that Trump’s campaign is mounting a serious effort to recruit hip hop artists.

“Since January, one of the sources adds, Trump has privately lamented at least a couple times that Snoop Dogg probably won’t endorse his 2024 campaign,” the report notes.

McFarland’s newfound usefulness to Trump is dubbed “fascinating” by Rolling Stone, which notes Trump’s Justice department prosecuted the Fyre Fest organizer on charges of wire fraud.

The organizer was sentenced to six years in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges he used fake documents to deceive investors, federal prosecutors announced in 2018.

Trump himself has been found guilty of falsifying business records to cover up hush money paid to an adult film star and liable for $464 million for defrauding Trump Organization investors.
