16 DUI arrests made in Kansas over Independence Day holiday: KHP

TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) is releasing the details of its Independence Day holiday report for this year.

The report includes citations, warnings and arrests made from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 7. One highlight of the report is there were no fatal crashes throughout the recorded period of time.

A breakdown of the full report can be found below:

  • DUI arrests - 16
  • Speed citations - 1085
  • Speed warnings - 909
  • Safety belt adult citations - 142
  • Safety belt adult warnings - 8
  • Safety belt teen citations - 7
  • Safety belt teen warnings - 0
  • Child restrain citations - 28
  • Motorist assists - 901
