Troy man pleads guilty to attempted robbery

The Albany County District Attorney's Office announced that William Camino, 19, of Troy, has pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted robbery.

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany County District Attorney's Office announced that William Camino, 19, of Troy, has pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted robbery. Camino was arrested back in February.

Camino admitted to brandishing a loaded pistol and attempting to rob a victim on Western Avenue in Guilderland on February 18. An investigation conducted by the Guilderland and Troy Police Departments determined that Camino acted alongside two others using a scheme involving the use of a dating app to lure victims and rob them.

Camino faces up to 10 years in state prison and a five-year term of post-release supervision. He is scheduled to be sentenced on August 23.
