Hear from U.S. Senate candidates Cruz, Allred in Nexstar primetime special Wednesday

AUSTIN (Nexstar) — This Wednesday, Nexstar will take an in-depth look at the candidates running for the U.S. Senate seat up for grabs in Texas during an hour-long primetime special.

KXAN anchor Daniel Marin recently spent an afternoon with both incumbent Republican Sen. Ted Cruz and his Democratic challenger Rep. Colin Allred, away from the noise and rhetoric of the campaign trail.

Their conversations — which took place at Cruz's home in Houston and at a unique restaurant in Dallas with a mission dear to Allred — went beyond the typical talking points to provide context on the issues Texas voters say matter most to them including rising consumer prices, the border and immigration, and reproductive rights.
