Travis Kelce Cries at the Eras Tour, Too

Thank God Brittany Mahomes was there.

Travis Kelce’s job might be kind of aggro, but that doesn’t mean the man isn’t in touch with his emotions. The NFL star attended another Taylor Swift concert this weekend in Amsterdam, and it looks like he might have gotten a little weepy during the surprise songs.

On the European leg of her tour, Swift has taken to performing thematically related mash-ups during her acoustic sets. On Sunday, she combined “Mary’s Song,” “So High School,” and “Everything Has Changed” to create a medley that seemed to be about how much she loves Kelce.

“Mary’s Song,” off of Swift’s first album, is about a couple who has known each other since they were children; “So High School” is her first Kelce-inspired love song; and “Everything Has Changed” is about being knocked on your heels by someone new. That alone would be enough to make me think this was for Kelce, but the show also fell on the one-year anniversary of Kelce attending the Eras Tour for the first time (as a civilian). Isn’t that sweet?

Seems like Kelce thought so. In a video captured by a fan, he appears to be wiping away tears during “Everything Has Changed” while Brittany Mahomes comforts him.

I like when the big man gets a little weepy, sue me! The cherry on top of this whole thing is that the last line of “Mary’s Song” is: “I’ll be 87, you’ll be 89 / I’ll still look at you like the stars that shine / In the sky, oh my my my.” Kelce’s jersey number is 87 and Swift, famously, was born in ’89. Maybe numerology is real.
