I have good news and bad news for all my fellow Bennifer believers. The good news is that the couple is wearing their wedding rings again. The bad news is that they spent the Fourth of July weekend apart. What are we to do with these mixed signals? Speculate, of course.

Lopez spent her long weekend in the Hamptons, where she shopped with Benny Medina, biked with friends, and shared an awesome Instagram carousel of her posing in front of a lavender field. Do they have those out there, or were these leftover pics from her Italian vacay? She loves to keep us guessing.

People got an exclusive quote about the singer from someone close to her. “She seems fine,” the source told the tabloid. While that may seem like a nothing quote, when you consider the year J.Lo has been having, “fine” is a pretty good spot for her to be in. You’re telling me she’s “fine” and she put her ring back on after having taken it off a week ago to promote JLO Beauty’s booty balm? We’re approaching “so back” territory.

On the other side of the country, Affleck looked to be in good spirits over the weekend as he waltzed through a parking garage with a big, mostly drunk iced coffee. Earlier in the week, he was all smiles while going out to lunch with his daughter Seraphina. On both occasions, Affleck was wearing his wedding ring after having previously ditched it back in June.

The rings coming back on does seem like a positive sign from the couple, who have been sparking divorce rumors since May. But that doesn’t mean that Lopez isn’t going to keep us on our toes. On Monday, she posted a clip from the music video for her A-Rod breakup track “Cambia el Paso,” purportedly to celebrate the song’s anniversary. She only posted the song’s pre-chorus, but people have clocked that the rest of the song (which Lopez sings in Spanish) has lines like, “Her life is better now without him … She doesn’t need anyone to be well.”

Sure she doesn’t need anyone to be well, but might she appreciate it? Just a thought.
